I've got a set of GT-40x aluminum heads, ported by a winston cup guy. Now I want to start building a 347 Eagle stoker for a Cobra kit...forged crank, forged H-beam rods, SRP pistons. Here's my questions:
1. The valve seats have a very light rust that can be removed with a scotch bright pad and some oil, but there is some light pitting in the valve seat. Is this going to be a problem. If so, is it repairable? (They sat in my storage unit for 4 years)
2. How much (ballpark) will a machine shop charge to fully machine the 302 block? (align hone, .30 bore, etc...)
3. Does the Eagle stroker kit have issues with burning oil?

The GT40X heads r too small for a 347, IMO.

I would use the AFR 205 heads on a 347 stroker with a port matched Victor EFI intake and a Comp Cam XE282HR. Easy 400/400 @ the RW, NA on 11:1 comp.

Eagle 4340 cranks r neutral balanced and r a real good piece. The Eagle 4340 crank and Eagle 4340 H-beam rods r good to 1000fwhp.

The 347 kits u r referring to burning oil is due to engine builder errors, period.

Machine shop prices vary depending on quality of the shop.
