I'm looking to do a nice 347 soon. Trying to stay budget minded, but it will probably cost more than I think Just looking to see what kinda n/a number you 347 guys are getting.

The combo i'm planning on is 10.8:1 compression 347, forged rods/pistons, cast crank (lighter than forged and perfect for what I plan on) ported TW heads, rpm 2 or holley intake, ed curtis cam probably (or another custom cam guy) 75mm race TB which is 90mm opening and 75mm at the blade (internet racers please dont tell me this is "too big") 1 3/4" longtubes, 80mm pro-m and 30's.

Post your numbers and combo's!

Mike

Lift is something like .562" with my 1.7 rocker arms. Duration I believe is 222/230 unless that is affected by rocker arm ratio also.

Tell ya what. Why dont you buy my 342 long block. Its a standard bore stroker so room to grow if you mess it up. Only 1000 miles on it and it is a nodular crank like you want with TrickFlow TrackHeat heads that you can port like you want. I'll sell it for $3500. Its balanced and blueprinted, comes with TrickFlow main support and all the other junk that would go with a long block. Everything is brand new including the block and even the odds and ends like the oil filter adapter. This would include brand new crane roller lifters, trickflow one piece pushrods, roller rockers, cam and so on. I'm parting out the car to do something else. Let me know what else you may need.

That 342 was you're blower motor wasnt it? Around 9:1 compression? Too low for what he is looking for I believe At the price you should be able to sell it n/p.

Tell you what you mike, I'll sell you my complete motor and carb set up. That way I can start on my 450+ cubic inch dart based windsor with TEA ported "R" heads and a T-trim

Mike.

Damn, didn't you just get that beast running? LOL.

Smack- no thanks, but thanks for the offer. I already have trickflows, so I dont need 2 sets. The 347 i'm buying will be under $2500 with a main support and ALL machine work. I prefer it be .030" bore/hone with a torque plate so i know the cylinders are right. I want a new motor so I know its broken in the right way (not driven like a wimp, so the rings can actually seal ) I'm looking for healthy compression like 10.8:1.

I might end up doing a 347 with unported TW heads since porting might be a bit pricey and a pita to ship the heads.

Any others..

Yeah, I got it running, but I'm going with a 472 now so time for this engine to go. It made 516 at the wheels though, but never went past 5000 rpms. Which reminds me, the D-1 is for sale also. Actually everybody in this country is broke because of Bush and so I cant seem to sell anything. People wont pay more than $2000 for my intercooled D-1, $800 for my TKO setup, or $2500 for my long block. Either that or everybody in this country is Dutch. PEople these days are either broke or cheap as hell.

Ok SmockDoiley, lets not bring politics into this, but then again if everyone was broke they would be grabbing at the used parts. Prices have come down on alot of parts and due to the increasing competition and increasing popularity. Look at all the new intakes in the past few weeks, BBK, RPM II, TFS box, ect. If people weren't buying they wouldn't be in such a heat to make them. IOW, why buy used when you can buy new. I know what you mean, people are cheap. I tried to sell a few things and no one wanted to pay squat for them, so I am going to hang on to them. Sorry, OT

Strokers make great power and even better tq. I want to go to 347 also, but then the rest of my combo will be unable to feed it properly. I will have to replace everything so I figure that I should get myself the patience to start a 351W based stroker, because it will cost about the same but make alot more power. I'm building the suspension right now, after that I might start collecting parts. Once I get past the point of no return I will do it, it's just getting the guts to buy parts it may be along time before I get to use them. Hopefully, the current engine will keep on chuggin' until this is possible.

I disagree totally. Bush is trying to drag us out of a recession which was inflicted by good ole Clinton. Don't you remember anything from the 2000 debates? They were predicting this term the toughest term in the nations history mainly because where our economy was headed. Enough about politics. Not a 347, but close to it. See sig for my 331 combo. Just got my new shortblock together for my new combo. 342, gas ported pistons, solid roller cam, 11:1 compression, 8,300 rpm shift points. Now I just gotta gather up the rest of the valve train components, 0 balance damper.......and the list goes on.
