347 missed shift update...rod bearing?

Well........I got the motor out and pulled the pan.......at first glance nothing was wrong..no metal in pan...nothing broken. I than found a rod nut half way off and it was contacting the block but it must have been at 1500 rpm because I turn the crank and it clears. I'm taking the assy(rod and piston ) to a machine shop and there gona tell me if the bolt streched or the builder didnt torque the nut right. all the bearing surfaces and crank look new even the rod with the backed off nut. This is all good news and if looks like I'll just get new bearing and rings and rod bolts if it was found to be streched.
