So to give you alittle history I have a pretty stock convertible 95 5.0 with an aode. And it seems to be the concensus to do a 347 rebuild in the beggining. So I have a couple of questions about that.
#1 is there any way to get around the sniffer with this, I don't mind pulling off an x-pipe or manifold, but a full engine rebuild just to pass smogs a little much. Or will that not be a problem, but if it is how do you guys go about doing it.
#2 where are some good places to find the 302-347 kits. and what specific parts should I look for. H. pistons or Forged. Ect.
Thanks in advance,
Matt

The cubic inches themself won't effect smog. The cam is the biggest issue if your worried about smog.

www.adperformance.com sells great kits. Use the scat 9000 series 347 kit for about $1000. It comes with a cast steel crank and I think forged I beams and forged probe pistons along with rings and bearings. I'm using that crank and piston for my 347 build, but I upgraded to probe light weight I beam rods.

All you really need is cats and it should pass smog assuming the cam isn't too wild. My friend stock mustang passes smog legally with longtubes and no cats.

I researched this a few months ago with help from Mike (above post). He and others agreed..forged beams and pistons, but "cast" steel crank...Spending several hundred more on a forged crank will be of no benefit for your application. Keep the cam mild-moderate, keep your cats and EGR, and you should be fine with emissions.

YOU can also try CHP for the kits.
