It will be fine for a street car,I think that you'll be real happy with the power it will produce as long as your goal is around 400hp. You could use a little larger cam IMO.

Performer heads and street heat intake = too small, improve those areas + a custom camshaft, and you'll have driveability + performance. Alternatives?.... TFS TW 190cc "fast as cast", Canfield 195... intakes?... Victor Jr. with elbow, TFS Box-R.

I've heard of people breaking T5's with stock power and good tires. Personaly,when the 5.0 used to be in my car,the T5 held-up and took the beating like a champ,with slicks and 150hp nitrous hits quite often.
On the opposite end,a buddies complete stock 5.0 broke one downshifting from 4th to 2nd at about 40 mph.

From what I have seen the stock T5 is pretty unpredictable. I kept the stock trans in mine a couple of years and was running high 12s. When I added nitrous I went ahead and swapped it for a TKO. Knew there was only so much it could hold.
No. My T5 lasted 2 months behind 480rwhp. Floored it on the interstate in 3rd gear and a couple seconds later BOOM!
Oh and yes those heads and intake will be way too small. Put parts that are good on a 302 on a 347 and you will get 302 power. Get you a set of 205 heads and a good intake.
Heck no! The car would have 0 torque. That setup is better suited for a very high compression race 302 stroker or a 351W based setup.i think i'll probably just use my existing edelbrock heads, and port them a little bit. i dont think i want to take a chance of spending the dough on heads/intake, then blowing the t5 and having to drop another 2k on a trans. i'm still wondering if i should upgrade the heads to studs or if the pedestals will be sufficient.

No. You won't.
The 347 will make more power at a lower RPM,idle better and have more vacuum avaliable for power brakes,ect. than the 302 will.
NRM90GT,I would look at going with a larger cam and some light clean-up on the heads will be fine.
Sorry sugar pie but you are wrong. A 347 with small 302 parts will make about 30rwhp more than the 302 will. Yes more torque but I don't think we are pulling up stumps here. Put bigger parts on the 347 and allow it to breathe and all you will have to worry about is the block.

You just said it yourself,a 347 will make more power than a 302 "with small 302" parts....
30wrhp is closer to 40-50hp at the flywheel
He already has aluminum heads invested and an intake that works just fine for a street car,or you can port it to get some more pull out of the top end witch is entirely dependant on your shift points.
Will bigger parts make more power? Of course,how much more and if its worth the extra cash is completely debatable and I say,no its not. Not to me anyways.

The rockers are plenty strong,its the thru bolts that you might have to worry about.
I would probably try and get some ARP bolts,if their not already.
