I am putting my engine back together and cannot find torque specs for the Cam thrust plate nor for the cam gear bolt. Also would like to know what to torque the flywheel to as well (Manual trans). Does anyone have those figures for a 351 Cleveland? Thanks!
9-12 ft/lbs on the thrust plate, 40-45 on the cam sprocket bolt. 75-85 for the flywheel/flexplate bolts ( same as all the other Ford V8's, they all use the same bolts there)
What is the thread style and type and what is the bolt tensile strength (170,000, 190,000,0r 220,000)?
I remember the flywheel being ~75lbs. Don't remember the cam thrust plate. Give me the info above and I'll get you the answer. Are you using ARP bolts?
