351 distributor fit

It is my understanding that the 69 and 70 351 blocks have a 9.42 deckheight i believe and that the later blocks have a 9.5 deckheight. what would keep you from using a distributor for a 9.5 deckheight block in an early 351 block? the difference is not much would one be able to shim the distributor?

Thanks,
Tom

Yea. As far as I know, they did nothing that would affect the distributor interchangeability on the 351's. Only thing that affects the 302's was they lengthened the shaft at the bottom to better support the oilpump drive, and that's only an issue with heavy duty pump drives. The 351 has a larger pump drive and a larger one's not as important.
