Hey, got another question for you guys. I was wondering if 351 heads would fit on 302 and be able to use the stock 302 intake manifold? Also was wanting to know if the 351 heads would be big enough for fms f cam, as far as piston to valve clearance or not? Or if I go with 351 heads will I have to get 351 intake manifold to fit.

thanks

They will work with the 302 intake. Ford engineers say you will can gain 30hp if you use the right 351 heads and maintain a good compression ratio.

It will fit you do need after market head bolts. 351 use bigger head bolts. ARP sells bolts that will work. The only differance between the 302 and 351 is the bolt size. Everything else will bolt up.

Both Edelbrock and TFS has head bolt bushings for this because the 351 head bolt holes are 1/2 inch and 302's are 7/16. But everything else should work.

use a 69-70 head, the rest are junk. Remember the 351 was nothing more than a dump truck motor.

Late model 302 and 351 heads are the same.. only ones worth the swap are 70's...the later ones have bigger chambers, you'll loose more HP with the loss of compression then you will gain from the bigger ports. If they need going through.. valve job, springs etc.. it usually isnt worth it, aftermarket iron heads would be cheaper.
