351 w/ c4 HELP!!!

Check out this link as it will educate you on the different C-4's http://www.mustangcentral.net/tech/c4.html The 302,351w and 351c all share the same bellhousing pattern so you can physically bolt up either a large or small bellhousing to any of them.There are 2 varieties of C-4 cases easily identified by whether the dipsick/fill tube goes into the case or if it goes into the pan.The larger bellhousing is the 164 tooth version and was available on either the pan fill or case fill C-4.The smaller bellhousing is the 157 tooth one and was only available with the case fill C-4.There is also a smaller bellhousing, a 143 tooth one used on Mustang II's but it is quite rare.The 164 tooth bellhousings use a torque converter with a 11.4" bolt pattern, the 157 tooth ones use a torque converter with a 10.5" bolt pattern.Since the 164 tooth flexplate is bigger, the starter is in a slightly different location than the 157 tooth variety.If you decide to go with a 164 tooth C-4, you need a block plate for a 164 tooth flexplate,the 164 tooth flexplate and a C-4 converter with the 11.4" bolt pattern.If you go with the 157 tooth variety then you need a 157 tooth blockplate,flexplate and a converter with the 10.5" bolt pattern.
