I am the proud new owner of a 67 convertible that I was told had a 351w. I have recently discovered a few things that the previouse owner lied to me about and am now wondering if the engine is actually a 351. As far as I can see there are no identification tags on the engine, and am wondering if there are any dead givaways as to what engine I actually have. Any help would be greatelly apreciated as It needs some work and finding parts will be a lot easier as soon as I am sure what I have. thank you

If the 67' has a 351w, it does not have an original motor in it. The 351w first came out in 1969. The small V8 in 67' is the 289.

Look at where the distributor meets the block. Is it at the same level as where the intake manifold meets the block? If so it is probably either a 289 or a 302.

If the intake manifold meets the block about an inch above where the distributor meets the block, then it is a 351w (assuming that it is indeed a windsor based motor.

Posting a pic of the motor should help to alleviate any doubt, especially if it is something different such as a cleveland motor (which came out in 1970.)

Otherwise, find the casted #'s on the side of the block and post them here and someone will be able to tell you exactly what it is.

Hope the pic shows up...
Look for the rib on the block in front of the distributor.
