351 windsor

Unknown what year SS...unknown what year. E7TE heads showed up on the GTs from 87 to 93. How do you know it's an 87 to 93 head when the OP doesn't know what year they are from? BTW, 351's came with those heads from 87 up also. So if the engine is out of an 87 and up then all he did was swap E7TE heads for heads from an unknown year 5.0...it could have even been an E7TE to E7TE swap which would have no effect on the compression.

I'm not talking like a know it all, I'm just looking at what was presented in a logical manner. Maybe I missed the post about the 5.0 heads...in which case I apologize. But to start talking about how the engine can make 260 hp with home porting is still adding what isn't there. And just to let you know, we can respectfully disagree. There's no need for abrasive comments. I'm sure we can be gentlemen about this...

The heads are off of a 93 5.0

Please. Just. Stop. Talking.

I apologize if this is the wrong place to post this.....but i was just curious and i know its just a guesstimate, how much power do you think this 351w is making? its out of an older bronco (smog motor) low compression and we stuck it in an 87 notch....all the smog equipment is off of it now, and it has an edelbrock 800 carb, edelbrock intake, edelbrock performer cam Duration 270/280, Lift .448/.472, bbk shorty headers and flowmaster exhaust....any ideas? it pulls strong.
Alex, out of curiosity, do you have any idea what year the engine itself is from?

I'm confused Allen....are you the Pot, or the Kettle in this debate? ;)
You know Brian, unlike you... I'll only argue about something I've had my hands on. If I'm not positive I'm correct, I'll bow out and shut up. I've been playing with windsor engines since about 1986 and figuring out what would and would not work by doing it, not by asking questions on the internet. What where you doing in 1986 Brian? Probably 6th grade homework I'm guessing.

I've got no dog in this fight, but Allen, don't you suppose younger people might have something valid to say from time to time? A lot of your arguments turn into "I'm older so I must know more than you".

Just saying...

No, Nik, I'll agree completely that younger people should have a voice and there are a lot of younger people out there like yourself who are brilliant. I however, and seemingly unlike the current younger generation, was taught to have the sense to look to the people older than me with experience. I am a journeyman trade craftsman, and it's in my nature to follow the order of listening to, and respecting my elders. They, after all, were the ones who were building everything around me before I was here. Therefore, it seems the wise thing to do would be when they have something to say is to STFU and listen...

I know young guys aren't all idiots, but I remember on more than one occasion back when I was in my 20's learning the lesson of being too big for my own britches, and paying respect where it's due. It's a process you learn by living and one day you'll look back and get it.

I think it's funny you basically calling someone a couple of years south of 40, a snot nose kid because your biggest accomplishment over mine was arriving on this earth a few years ahead of me? When you're 60, will you feel that way about 50-year-olds too? Damn whipper snappers need to know their place!!! :rlaugh:

Thanks for further proving my point though. The fact you're getting so worked up about being called out for calling someone else a know it all, immediately after acting the part yourself by dismissing anothers opinions makes it all the funnier. :rlaugh:

I too have been around engines and cars all of my life and built my fair share of them over the years....but because I'm a few years your junior, my point and anyone else that might have been born after the 60's is invalid? Good to know. Do you know how ridiculous you sound when you make statements like that? I was planning to bring up the fact that you've contradicted yourself throughout the course of this thread on more than one occasion, but it seems kinda pointless now. My guess is that rather than preserve your dignity a little, eat a little slice of humble pie and acknowledge the fact that the outcome of the OP's build might just be different than you predicted, that you’ll simply just yell at me and chase me off your lawn while shaking your cane. We'll just blame it on the Alzheimer’s I guess? ;)
