I recently bought a couple of 70 torino's. One is super hammered and with no engine and what not but the other has a rebuilt 351C that barely has 500 miles on it. So I'm wondering what it would take to put it in my 68 mustang along with a 5 speed. The car already is a manual so I don't have to worry about the pedal part of it. Any info is a great help. thanks.

for the most part the 351c does bolt into the 68 chassis. you even use the 302 engine mounts. you need headers from a 70 mustang with the 351c, and since you are considering the T5, i recommend the "Z" series T5 from ford motorsport. use a bellhousing from an 85-93 mustang, and convert to a cable clutch.

The 68's came with a 428;so it should fit right in. The 351C will fit the 5.0 bellhousing, so that should be a bolt in, too.

I have a 69 and just picked up a newly rebuilt 351C, it came with a rebuilt C6 but I plan to go with a T5 or TKO. My car is currently an auto so I am looking into the different kits available. Any suggestions???

you are thinking about the 351m/400 that has a 10.3" deck height and uses the 429/460 bellhousing bolt pattern. the 351c uses the same bell pattern as the 302 and 351w. the deck height on the 351w is 9.5" while the deck height on the 351c is 9.2" the 351c heads are wider over all than the 351w heads, only because of the design of the exhaust ports.

Now that is one of the most uninformed posts I've seen lately, the kind that tends to spread misinformation. If you don't know any better, then sorry, but I'd learn the TRUTH quick. I started this hobby pretty misinformed, thanks to the damn magazines, but I've learned a lot in ~5years.

Be gentle with your shifts. A "C" can snap a T-5 in short order.....
