351w modifications

hi everybody, i need some help to make some modifications to my mustang, i want more power, its going to be a daily driver but i run the 1/4 mile sometimes, its a 1973 mach 1, standar transmission, the modifications i want are; headers, dual exhaust, a bigger carb, intake manifold, ignition, distributor, coil,what do you think or what else do you recomend, can you help my whit part numbers, brands, specifications, etc, i am not in a hurry so i am planning to buy each part at a time, thank you

depends on what your goals are in your car, with the combo below my car could run a mid to high 14 with a posi rear and real tires (i have a 351w). Over summer, I plan on doing more aggressive things, such as ported heads (or aluminum ones if i have money), a compcams 274XE cam, 650 Holley double pumper, keep my exhaust, and a Weiand stealth... plus the MSD igntion and accel coil already on my car... should be good for 13s. Your car is a bit heavier, so you might see slightly higher times, but that gives you an idea of what mods on a 351w will do.

Stock cams are pathetic. No lift, no duration, no power. If it has a stock timing chain I think the cam comes retarded. That all adds up to missing hp. Pick a cam company and tell them what you have and what you want and let them help you pick one. Intake and cam are a package deal so make sure they are compatable.

i dont want big modifications, i just want more power, but keeping the car streetable, i am open to opinions so lets start, thank you
