I have a 302 on my 70 now. I can have a 351W out of an 83 F150 for free to rebuild if I want. Will the truck motor work easily. I am also swapping the auto for a 5 speed, either a T5 or a TKO.

sure it'll work. Without a rebuild I think they run lower compression though, but shouldn't be a problem. Nice thing is, they use a 1 piece rear main seal, and have the those steel strips that help seal the oil pan evenly.

You'll probably need to change at least some of the bracketry. You'll for sure need to change the oil pan.

Yea, the front accesory drive is going to be different but dont let that scare you off as its pretty straight forward. I did this in a 77' Bronco and you just may have to do some fabcrication work. You'll be happy with the Torque!

I am not sure exactly what it will be when I am done. The motor is kinda tired so I am rebuilding and I thought I would use performance parts as opposed to the original factory ones. I would like to be nearing 400rwhp when completed. Getting a T5 to hold that is a different issue. Im sure ill have tons of questions.
