I'm in the process right now of figuring out what kind of specifications I should go with on my project of twin turbo'ing a 351w motor. Please excuse me if i sound ignorant, as I draw my only experiences from the import side of things, namely my skyline GT-R.

While I understand the fox body chassis has some flaws in regards to rigidity, I'm going to address the engine first. I'm planning on using 351w shortblock as the core of the new engine, mainly because I've heard its several times stronger than a 302 and I'd rather not have the block split in half under mild boost conditions (500 RWHP). While I know that the 351w itself is theoretically a larger version of the 302, I'm assuming I could use 5.0 heads, intake manifold, headers?

Anyways, I'm planning on building the twin turbo system myself (heh). I would like some advice on regarding cam specifications, cylinder head size, compression ratio and turbo size for now. Heck, any advice from people who have gone turbo would be nice, I'm also going to research on turbomustangs.com too. BTW using a 351w, what kind of ECU should I be using? I've heard the stock 5.0 ecu will do fine. I may run an aftermarket one later, but for now will the stock one do? I'll keep you guys posted as I build the beast.

P.S. I'm shooting for 500 RWHP.. I don't mind having a rough idle, the more aggressive the camshaft the better heh, as I don't plan on daily driving this.

While i haven't had much experience with turbos the main thing you need to keep is air flow. For heads i suggest the AFR 205 or 225s. they have great flow rates. For intakes you will have to buy one for a 351 since a 302 will not fit due to the deck height diference. There are several diffents kinds on the market. And as far as a cam goes i would get one custom ground to assure maxium gain from your turbos.

You really need to check out turbomustangs.com, those guys do nothing but what you are doing. Youll get mostly speculation on here. Sounds like a sweet project, keep us posted on how it goes.
