I just bought a 68 F100 and its got a 360 v8 in it. The carb thats on there now needs a rebuild as its leaky. I've got a spare Holley 600 double pumper. The 600dp should be big enough to run a stock 360 just fine right ?

While a dp wouldn't be my first choice for a daily driver, it should be fine.

It'll work but the fuel mileage will suck. It'll do better if you disconnect the secondaries. It has a 4 bbl intake on it now? Might not be a 360.

I'll have to double check but I thought it have a 4v carb in there. If its a 2v carb then I will borrow a 500 cfm Holley from my friend to run the truck until I can get a better 2v carb or rebuild the one that is on there if it is a decent carb.

The truck just might end up with a 248CJ motor with some of those cast iron factory headers off of a Fairlane and a build auto trans.

The Holley 500 is a great carb for it, if it's got a 2 bbl intake. I think you mean 428CJ, not 248CJ.

never seen a 360 with a factory 4v intake, probably because they didn't make one to my knowledge but it's entirely possible that someone swapped on a 390 or other FE 4v intake. most 360's came with either a 1.19 or 1.23 venturi autolite/motorcraft 2100/2150 most of which are decent carbs but some of them aren't even worth rebuilding. the ford carb forum on metwork 51 will be able to tell you if you've got a decent one or not. a 350 or 500 holley would make a decent replacement if you have one of the crappy motorcraft carbs.

I'm not looking to spend any money on this truck I don't need to and that includes a new carb. Right now I just want to get the thing up and runing. The motor is strong, just needs a few minor things.
