alright guys i need some input building a 363 dart block for my show car and am looking at single turbo kit either from on3 performance or cx racing. The question I have is what size turbo should i be looking to upgrade to in order to take full advantage of the stroker that i am having built and what kind of horsepower can be expecting.I have always ran superchargers and 306 and am new to the turbo world but not new to mustangs . Any input would be very appreciated.

Search for GroverDill his 363 I built makes near 900RWHP with a tiny 72mm... Id look at a 76mm or larger, and Im not a fan of either one of those kits if you want a direct fit kit.

Those are the wrong kits for a show car, the piping will be butchered by all the cuts and welds you will have to make to get them to fit (if you ever do)

By a better kit, while up front costs will be way more (there is a good reason for that) you will save time headaches and all the extra costs a chassis shop charges you to fix the cheaper kits.

The last on3 i saw was going to take so much modding to get right, that the owner decided it was cheaper to just buy a supercharger instead.

A 363 dart is what about a 10,000 dollar engine by the time you have all the parts? No point in cheaping out now.
Buy a helion kit instead.

I'm wasnt trying to cheap out just seen those kits online and looked pretty good in pictures but i guess looks can be deceiving. Your right the 363 i am having built is not cheap and i have spent alot of man hours and money smoothing out and finishing out my engine bay that is why i went ahead and decided to go all new stuff and direction with setup. 900 rwhp is more than i thought it would actually make thats awesome i have all the mods installed on the car to handle 1000 but honestly never thought i would ever see that number.

The On3 kit will probably fit fine, but for a show car, a kit from B&G would be a much better choice in my opinion. His kits look better, come with better components, and will definitely fit. The only catch is you'll need to wait a few months to get a kit. There are always some kits floating around on Corral from HP performance, Pony Down, B&G, Hellion, PTK...all the well-proven kits. I bought my HP kit used, but basically recreated the entire thing to make it work for my needs. You need to be careful if you have an aftermarket k-member, my HP kit did not clear my MM k-member.

If you don't mind spending the cash, I would spring for a ball-bearing turbo. It will make stupid power. A 76mm should be fine for any engine in the 331-363 range. A minimum of a .96 a/r will probably work nicely for you. There is a lot of science in sizing a turbo, but .96 a/r 76mm turbos have been proven to work very well for the stroker SBF engines. Even an 80mm will work fine, but some streetability may be sacrificed.

Do you have pictures of your progress? Start up a build thread!

Come on holic, "probably fit fine", i don't know about you, but i don't spend thousands of bucks on "probably", lol.

I've only seen 2 on3's in person, neither of which fit properly.

Lol. It seems like the newest kits fit better than some of the previous versions. People on Corral haven't been complaining about them as much as they used to. But now it seems that all their POS blow off valves and wastegates are failing. You get what you pay for, that's for damn sure.

so true , this site so far is pretty cool and very helpful for guys like me going new direction and doing all the work myself since the last time i carried it to a local shop 4000.00 later and ended up having to fix all the stuff he done { screwed up } plus what was wrong at first. won't never happen again promise you that. since i have gotten a couple of directions to look at as far as turbos go now comes fuel looking at aeromotive A1000 kit but thought maybe someone might have better insight on it i'm currrently running in stock tank had t-rex inline but sold it with supercharger. any suggestions ?

Check our Glenn's performance or Behind Bars Race Cars. They both make full fuel systems with a choice of different pumps and components. I personally think there are better pumps available than the a1000. I am personally leaning towards the BBRC aluminum tank with a Fuelab pump and regulator. Fuelab seems to have some pretty cutting edge technology in their pumps and regulators.

If you decide to go with a Fuellab/BBRC set-up Im a dealer and can set you up with a good price.... Ive been using Fuelab for awhile now, great stuff and the new regulator with integrated pump controller is pimp! I put systems together for any set-up...

I don't like the aeromotive either, i've known too many people that have burned them up, and they are loud as hell.

I used 2 inline walbr0 255's, quiet, fairly inexpensive, but i don't know how much power they will truely support, should be about 700rwhp, but i don't know that to be fact, i figured eventually i'd goto 600rwhp, but that's about it.

Most of my parts came from glenns, not that it was really necessary to get them there, but i felt it only fair since most of my fuel system ideas came from his site.
I used a stock tank with a pick up in place of the original fuel pump.

I was going to ask you if you dealt with Fuelab. I actually have an e-mail into them right now asking some tech questions about a setup for my car. Expect an e-mail/call from me after I hear from them. I'm probably going with their pump, filter, controller, and a BBRC tank.

Chris's stuff is top notch, it is the only tank I prefer to use, and I really like the rail design. He turned me on to Fuelab and actually does a lot of testing for them since they are local, great products for sure. I have pricing on the controller/regulator not as bad as you might think, it is not listed on BBRC site. If you want to shoot your questions my way I can answer them but Chris is pretty good about getting back in a few days.

He is a hell of a fabricator and is actually the one who builds the intercoolers for Hellion

Ive installed a Glenns system, I prefer to build it myself so I canr oute the lines the way I want and use the fittings I want, only thing I hate about a prepackaged set-up sometimes. Like stated the Walbro 255lph pumps are quite and are very effective, I just added one inline to a blown 331 set-up where I was running out of pump.

I have worked on almost all the turbo kits out there, the crappiest fitting kit was a B&G kit. We have had an on3 kit bolted on and running in 4-5 hours. They fit GREAT! Hellions and hp's also fit about the same, they are nicer than an on3 parts wise, but WAY more expensive.

remember, if your car has been wrecked at some point, a turbo kit is never going to "fit how it should". Unless your cars frame rails and aprons are 100% straight.

Car has never been wrecked or twisted up always had full weld sub frame connectors and rick i will hit you with and email on your site about fuel setup. I looked up some turbos online last night there like women all shapes all sizes very confusing and overwelming but with yalls input its all good. On3 kit is ok just got to find out if they offer upgrade to bigger than 70mm also have looked at b&g and cx racing and etc. Get my drift.

I have thought about that i looked at cold side kit from cx racing around couple hundred ,couple of hot side kits around 1,500 without turbo or any wastgate, blowoff valve etc. i can handle cold side but new to turbo world and dont want to buy wrong part buy mistake that is why i figured i would buy the kit and possibly just buy better turbo or upgrade to better turbo with company i buy kit from . this is strictly a show car driving just to cruise ins close to home and occasionally get it out on pretty day definetly not in rain . so its not going to be beat on { babied} but all said love pin your ass to seat when you nail it always have and always will its addicting.

I sold my turbo kit because there was too much fabbing to do, bought a Vortech S-Trim instead (easy install).

My favorite 363 project / power adder I've seen on these boards is the Kenne Bell A2A build by 92rohcp. That car made like 700 ft lbs of torque at like 2800rpm, that has to be a blast. Plus it's a show piece.
