3G Alts - One Wire

Not sure if it's still an issue nowadays, but I've heard problems with one wire alternators needing to get some pretty good RPM before they excite enough to put out any voltage.

You shouldn't need the wire cutters unless you want to grab the pigtail off the harness. Otherwise, for $25 you should grab a couple. Having a spare is nice if you have one crap out.

i have the one wire setup and am glad that i did it. I took a 130 amp to the local auto electric place and had a self exciteing regulator put in it then bought a kit from 50resto (i think, cant really remember) that had like a 4ga wire with a big ass inline fuse. tucked the stock harness under the air box and ran the new wire in front of the rad. and behind the battery tucking the fuse in behind the front fender. easy peasy and it works super. i dont have any problems with a charge at rpm's as low as 750 with a underdrive pulley.
