4.060 351W

Is any1 out there running a 351W witha bore of 4.060, if so have you had any overheating problems? Thanx in advance.

with as many virgin to .030 over windsor blocks out there, i dont know why you would run a .060 over block

my .040 302 overheated if that tells you anything... Went for a different shortblock. No issues now.

As long as the block sonic tests well you will not have any issues, sonic testing to ensure proper thickness and support is a must with a .040"+ overbore on a factory block....proper cooling system is important not matter what bore to keep them cool.

I agree with Clement, if you can find a block with a standard bore or .030" you would be better off.

.060 is usually ok on the 351w blocks, but due to the possibility of core shift it should be checked/inspected anyway.
If your shop can't do it, then find another shop...

I wud run it cause it was free and fresh out of the machine shop. Iz asking if any was running a windsor with a .060 overbore!!! 351w is a lil thicker casting than the standard 302.

I was wondering why because if you want to make power you need ring seal, and the more wall you have the stiffer the wall and thus better seal. just because someone is doing it, doesnt mean its ideal.

FWIW- A 84 351w is about as strong as a latemodel 302.

Im more than likely not going to use, but I was jus curious, I thought that was a lil much 2 but Ive heard of people running them .060 over. Thanx for the imput guyz!
