4:10 Gear Swap question?

Have a 2003 GT 5 Speed and I going to do a 4:10 gear swap. Is a modified cross shaft needed or can I get away without it?

All you need is a set of gears, and somebody to install them.

Maybe it's cause I have only worked on a 8" diff, but I have never heard of a cross shaft. Do you mean pinion shaft? Anyways, you shouldn't because the only real different in gears is the the ratio of pinion teeth to ring teeth.

Yea its the pinion shaft, RPM outlet called it a modified cross shaft and said you only needed it with 4:10s or higher, anyways thanks, I think they were trying to make an extra buck.

You need a Turbinator with gears.

only with 456's or higher do you need a different shaft, or the OE one can be modified

You dont need anything other than a stock pinion shaft with 4.10's.
