You'll get better acceleration with them - BUT you need a chip or tune to correct the shift points with the tranny. The 4.10s will throw those off - and you may hit the rev limiter on shifts.

Be sure to have a good shop do the gear install.

Good Luck!
Don

I already got the chip programer thing. The shop that is doing them is run by guys who only do stuff on mustangs and thats all they own. They also will said they will tune it for me after they do the gears.

Make sure that they're for the 7.5 rear end(V6) and not the 8.8.

Use Mobil 1 synthetic gear oil... 75w-140

Buy a bearing kit as well. Motive sells one for less than $100...

All that, and...

Replace the rear axle seals seeing that the axles need to be popped out as well during the install.

You can expect it to shift a lot sooner, have a little more RPM's at highway speeds, but nothing bad.. your MPG may drop 1 or 2.

I think you meant to say that it will shift later as the point of going with steeper gears is to reach the power band before shifting under acceleration.

I'm not so sure i would bother with gears, the v6 has a weaker rear end. You might end up snappin axels like a camaro with 4.10s in that little rear...
