I know its been asked a few times somewhere in this forum, but I can't find it. Which is better in my auto? What would the rpms be crusing the freeway at about 70mph? Would the 430's make much difference anyway? THX. I use the car as a daily driver and I would like to top out at least 140-150 mph. I plan on staying N/A as well and waiting for the hypertech/predator programmers to come out for the 02 auto's. I would also like to run in the 13's in the 1/4 mile as well. Are any of these gears going to kill my engine by 100,00 miles? THX

I was sort of also wondering this myself.. but in my case.. I'm going with these 3.90's for my 03 Auto GT.. I'd rather not go 4.10's becuase I don't want to have the high rpms while cruising on the freeway.. Anyone know how much of a difference with my Auto I should feel from the stock gears to these 3.90's?

FYI i have 4.10s in my 98GT Auto right now..my top end is like ~110mph. Since the car has no 5th gear (like a 5speed) it is stuck in 4th doing 110mph. It can go a little faster, but the RPMs are high.

I would recommend 3.73's if you are Auto, and STAYING auto. The 4.10s are fun, and they are FINE, even for driving on the highway. But i personally like to go 125mph and what not sometimes and if i were to even get near 120mph my car would be screaming, and even cruising at 110 is a bit high! When i coast at like ~80mph my rpms are ~3,500. Which is kinda high... ...I am switiching my car to a manual though, so i will get that 5th gear soon :nice:

I am looking at going with 4.1's for my 2001 GT Auto. With my tires in overdrive at 80mph I would be at about 2964rpms. With 3.7's I would be at 2697rpms....not really a huge difference. Personally, I like to get to 80 really fast, but hardly ever go faster.

UDTBadKarma.. well.. my 3.90's are made by Pro 5.0 and from what I've heard they're hard to keep in stock (partshopper had to drop-ship them to me from manufacture). Any idea where you heard they only lasted 30-50K miles? Anywho.. I know some people on this forum have said that they've gotten good results with the 3.90's... do you have an article or something with a bad review you could post in this thread.. becuase if they are what you say they are I'd like to read it too. Thanks. :nice:
