4.10s finally installed

5+ hours for a gear install by a professional:eek:
The guy that did mine at a Ford performance shop only took 45 minutes! That was counting the time it left the floor until it was sitting back on the floor. It even took him two tries to get it shimmed correctly. They've been in there for nearly 35K miles now and there is no whine or any other issue to date:nice:
All in all, if they're done correctly and there aren't any problems, it is still time well spent.

I believe it, if he went for acceptible, not perfect. Put everything together with an impact wrench and "felt' for the torque, etc. I can probably get the thing torn down and have the gears laying on the bench in half an hour or less, but after that it could take a long time to get it all set up the way I'd want it...

I am not complain that it took my installer about 5.5 hrs to install my gears. I got to watch most of the install, and I can tell he took is time in order to get everything just right. He wasn't taken his time for financial gain. Even though it took longer than he expected he still only charged me the $300 for the install.

It may be related to the gear install, but now I am experiencing a TSB 06-12-11 limited axle moan/groan while making low speed turns. The shop that did the repair will take a look at my car tomorrow. I want to take it to them before I take it to the dealer for warranty work.
