4.10's going on tommorow...

well i juss picked up my car from the shop..... no gear whine what so ever so thats a good thing....the guy even charged me 225 instead of what he had said of 275.....havent really tryed the gears out so much.... i picked up the car and came home....too much traffic to get on it a little....they did the complete bearing kit installation and the gears and the speedo recalibration gear for 225.... everything seems ok....no noices in the drivetrain....i did notice the rpm hang a lil higher now....doesnt bother me....i hear my exhaust more without even trying.... the speedo seems to be accurate...later on ill get the speedcal if needed....ill keep you guys posted on how i liked the gears....later on tonight i will go on the drive....for the break in.....the guy juss told me to dont drive it too hard... and to try to keep it under 70mph for 100 miles.....after that i can do whatever i want....

my uncle that worked for ford as a mechanic told me a funny story. when customers would come in cuz the check engine light. they charged them for 2 hours of service when the only problem was the gas cap wasnt on the car making the check engine light come on.

lol try 45 minutes including the test drive. I watched and yes he did everything correct while BS'ing with me about FFW. This guy rocks.. oh he is 03twinturbo here on Stangnet.

And the install of 2-3 hours is about right. Hope you're not paying to much for labor. $200-250 is about the going rate.

soo the plastice gear will not work. what if you get it from steeda or anouther good company

did the tool include a big tube that bolts in where the carrier goes?

if so he was using the ford pinion depth tool, with that I can do them in under two hours easy.

not many private shops have that ford tool, it's about $1000 for the tool

there is a generic 8.8 only tool that I would like to try at somepoint, but I have access to the ford tool so why would I want to use anything else

i got the plastic gear from steeda to adjust the speedo, and its working fine so far,lets see how long it lasts...the gears are great!! i am hitting 2.2k rpm going 40 mph in 4th gear....does that sound about right?

yeha, i race occasionally.....in bout 1 month im going up against my dads lightning, at the track of coarse....
