4.10's installed today!?!?

I got my 410 gears installed today and I like them,but for me it really wasn't what I expected.I was expecting it to feel like a new machine and actually it just woke it up.I'm impressed,but not WOW'd.Before I got my gears I would read some of the posts of guys saying they should've gone with 4.30's and I would think they were crazy,but I'm kinda thinking the same thing now.
Before the gears the 1-2 shift would chirp the tires if I took it near redline and nothing on the 2-3 shift,but a nice hard shift.
After the gears the 1-2 shift spins the tires and the 2-3 chirps the tires and the 3-4 shift is like the old 2-3 shift.
My car is an 03 GT with weld in flows and a drop in K&N.It still hasn't seen it's first oil change yet,so maybe I just have to break it in some more.Also installing a UPR X pipe tommorrow so maybe that'll help.
After reading some of the posts I think I was just expecting too much.So to anybody doing a gear swap in my opinion you won't be satisfied with anything less than a 4.10

I have to agree with you.I picked my car up last week from the getting the gear install and its been setting in my garage ever since because i need to put the speedcal in now.But the drive home was kinda cool.I can't wait till i can really get into and see how i like it.

My speedometer appears to be about 10 mph off,maybe more.So I need one,but instead of spending $100 on that I was thinking of waiting and getting the Diablosport Predator so I can advance timing ,A/F ratio and scan codes.

You speedo is high by 20%. Check into the SCT Programmer as an option to the Diablo.

gotta be 5 speed no auto will chirp 2nd to 3rd shifts. I was also like you say dissapointed kind of in the gears but love them. I do chirp harder from 1st to 2nd but just hear clutch slippage in the 2nd to 3rd. If i get a new clutch hopefully i can spin them in 2nd and chirp into 3rd

Yeah it's a 5 speed.And how much is the SCT compared to the Diablo?

I agree, i just had my 4.10 installed, and other than that my 01 is completely stock. While they did wake the car up tremedously, im not completely WOW'd by the new feel. I would be pissed if i had gone with 3.73 i think. I sitll think they were worth the money, but i was just expecting so much more from what people on here were saying.

Add me to the list of *initial* disappointment. Give the gears a few more days. Take your car out on a cold night, and check out how hard 2nd and 4th gear pull

I have a 99 gt automatic. I am looking into getting 4.10's. What rpm range do you guys run at on the highway? That is my only concern or I would get 4.30's. Thanks

I've got 4.10's in my automatic with a high-stall converter and see 3k rpms at about 70mph.

My speedometer is off becuase I haven't gotten the calibration did so I'll put it to you like this.If you like the way the car sounds/responds before it's final shift you'll love 4.10's.For me that's 4th,not sure what the auto's are.5th gear is still a dog,but not a mutt now.If someone were trying me on the Interstate I'd still have to drop to 4th to go and get them if they caught me off gaurd.

If I had to do it over again I would probably do 4.30's.I say probably because I'm trying to give everything a chance get broken in because car and mods are new and sometimes I expect too much.Besides that sometimes it takes a couple of wins and convincing from others that you have a fast car.Right now I know it's fast,but I want faster.
