I've had my 4.10's for just over a week now.
I really love them but I was expecting a bit more.
People here claim to have all kinds of traction issues and having to re-learn how to drive, and be able to chirp 2nd and 3rd.

I got used to these gears right away, no problem.
In fact, they feel like stock now.
Don't get me wrong, they are definatly stronger and
my stang really moves!

I have no experiences with sliding or spinning at all.
Is it my brand new Nitto 555 ER's???
or just me not mashing the pedal?
One note! I have only been launching by just releasing the clutch with just a little or no gas.
I do get on it pretty hard after the launch though.

Very funny
The install was done at my dad's shop.
I saw the parts and the ring said 4.10 on it.
Also, when I calibrated my speedo for 4.10's with the hypertech,
milage is perfect.

will do!

I'm just a bit tentative 'cause I only have 250 miles on them and haven't
changed out the gear oil for the redline stuff yet.

just buy some hot wheels cars and steal the wheels off of them and mount them on your stang. 26inch tires down to 1/8inch tires will be mad gear yo!!

I definatly notice a difference!
They are great.
Just not experiencing what others have experienced:
Traction problems, re-learning how to drive, breaking the tires loose, etc.
Wondering if something is wrong?.

its a pretty cut and dry thing, the nittos you have are a great street tire. the problem with traction i think is more noticeable at the track than on the street IMO

I see.
Thanks Jackie.
I think that when people talk about their experiences with their mods, they are refering to the track.

When people are reporting these traction issues, they mean in terms of all out balls to the wall driving.

When my Cobra had nothing but 4.10's & a shifter, 2nd gear was useless on dry pavement only if you wanted it to be. IE: Rev motor dump clutch in 1st smoke the tires till 6000+rpm's....Power shift second Smoke tires until 6000+rpms...Power shift third gear & lay down some more rubber.

It's all good fun, but the car didn't have traction issues in Second from a roll unless you jumped on the gas while exiting a corner. In the upper rpm's from a roll the tire's would brake loose from a punch....but you would have to purposely induce it. If you rolled on the gas with any savvy the car would hook like a champ.

Dude look between the driver and passenger seat. In front of the emergency brake handle there should be a black looking stick that you can move around. Check and see if it has a button on it to let you move it up and down only or not. Tell us afterward.
