I finally got my 4.10's install yesterday and WOW!! I absolutley love them so far. Had a nice 2 hr drive home from the shop and I loved every minute of it. I had been debating between 3.73's and 4.10's for a while and I am glad that I didn't get the 3.73's. I feel I definitely would have been disappointed with them vs the 4.10's.

I still can't wait til the first time I actually get all the way on the gas with these things.

And highway driving is not bad at all. very VERY streetable. All i do is highway and the mustang is still my daily driver. Here is a pic to show the rpm's at 70mph.

DON'T FEAR THE GEAR!

4.10s are awesome, I am glad I didn't fear the gear!

Side note - is your speedo correct? My T-45 tachs ~2600 at 70mph with a 0.67:1 OD ratio. Does your TR3650 have the 0.62 5th gear? If so, then your RPM/Speed makes sense to me.

Yea, my speedo is correct. I put the tune on it right after the install and it was set up for 4.10s. Also verified w/ my GPS. Not 100% sure about the ratio for 5th in the 3650 but the .62 sounds about right Someone else might be able to say exactly.

The only issue I have now are these damn flowmasters. I usually drive about 60 mph on the highway and now that is right when they love to drone the most. . .o well. . .time for a new catback.

Yes. 2500 rpm @75 mph in 5th (25 @ 75). And the naysayers say the rpms are too much.

For me it's more like 2700 rpms, but I still get 26mpg on straight highway runs

I guess I have to keep my foot out of the gas!! lol. I can definitely tell my gas mileage has dropped, but I'm not shifting as early as I use to either

I have the 3.73's and have loved them. I think now that I have a DD, I'll upgrade them to 4.10's.

My highway mileage dropped from 28mpg w/ 2.73s to 22mpg right after I had the gears installed & did new brakes. After about 800miles it went back up to 26mpg, probably due to the new parts breaking in.

Good to know. My average mpg is has always been around 21-22mpgs. I can definitely tell it's in the mid teens now, but now I have hope for it to come back up.

I went from 3.73s to 4.10s and wish I went with 4.10s from the start.

I took mine to a professional. It took a total of 4 hrs from the time I got there til the time I left.

SSOTN - Gear Install

Unless you're experienced with this, you'd probably be better off finding someone to do it.

No, unfortunately I haven't. It was at the beginning of this month right? I had thought about going this year but I have been very busy recently. I usually go down for Hot Rod weekend in May. Maybe next year I'll head down for cruisin weekend.

Hell Yeah. Dont fear the gear. It amazing how hard it is to convince people that have never tried them to go with steeper gears. 4.10s FTMFWATFW

+1 It seems we went through a spell where a lot of naysayers were saying "get 3.73s, 4.10s are too much". There are a few situations where 4.10s might be too much, but for the majority of enthusiasts, 4.10s are perfect.
