Can anyone tell me about this. i looked at a V6 yesterday and was told it had a 4.2L crate motor. i have never heard of this and was just curious about it?

Are their performance parts for it? What kind of numbers does it put out? So on and so forth.

Thanks

well, places like www.rpm-mustangs.com and www.supersixmotorsports.com are selling them for all needs from mild to wild with everything from hyper pistons and reman rods to forged pistons/rods and ARP main studs. for a quick boost in trq and a little more hp, some people are pulling the 4.2L V6 from the 97+ F-150s and dropping them in. Go check out www.v6power.net and take a look at soe of the combos those fellas are running. One guy is running a stock F-150 4.2 and with a decent (I believe his cam has alot more more to grow) H/C/I package is making ~260rwhp and ~280rwtq I believe. There is another fella there already making 430+rwhp on his blown 4.2 but after a couple of little changes and what not is shooting for 500 to the wheels. There are many others that fall in between those numbers. I am contemplating the built 4.2 route myself since I already have the Vortech to top it off.

Here's a link to a 4.2L swap thread about all the differences between the 3.8 and 4.2 and what all is needed based on what year your stang is. Even if you aren't looking for this swap yourself, its alot of good info.
