I've got a pretty good warranty that has agreed to rebuild my engine at my local shop, bottom end rattle over 2K RPM (No check engine light though...). While the engine is pulled and being rebuild what could I add to give it a little more power? My first thought was overboring but my research has said that it does nothing for HP.

I figure if I'm getting this done I might as well get some extra oomph....

Trick flow heads and some cams. Or just supercharge it.

Trying not to spend over a grand or two. I'd come out better financially by paying the difference between replacing the old engine and putting in a rebuild cobra 4V before supercharging it.

To do a Cobra 4v it is a lot more than you think!

I figure if the company pays to have the current engine replaced, maybe 3-4K, I could cover the difference and get a 4V. If not I'll get it on the low side and see what power options I can get for a grand or so.

Keep the 2v and do a head and cam swap or supercharge it. A 4v swap is more of a "project" swap and will run you a lot more money.

I new Vortech V3 goes for about 3600-3700 brand new. A shop in Rhode Island is offering a vortech kit, fuel pump, injectors and tune for 3200$ if you are interested.
