Hi about to embark on my 4.6 modular project and can get a 2000 gt block for a reasonable price. The problem or what i think might be a problem is that the seller didnt mark the main caps and took them off. Can i just install the main caps or do the main caps have to go in to the same spot they were removed from.

thanks
rich

PS. 5.1 litre stroker here i come!!

yes they need to go back in the same spot or either have the block line honed and new bearings so that everything will fit right.

One last question

whats the difference in 4.6 blocks from 96 and 01, the block im picking up is an 01 and i want to build it up outside the car, but will all the brackets mount on the 01

sorry for all the questions just trying to pull off the swap as easily as possibly.

thanks again

all of the brackets are the same. Make sure that it isn't a block out of a front wheel drive crown vic because it will not work.
