4.6 Crank pulley and damper failure?

Not a Mustang, by my 97 F150 had the pulley work its way to a wobble on my 4.6 motor. It was a pain to replace.

I got some help on F150 online, but I was wondering if this was a common problem on 4.6 Mustangs?

not unless you put u/d pulleys on it. And even then it's very rare and usually just results in cracking of the housing or a pump - not a wobble

When i had my old motor with UDP's it would wobble and i just recently went to an autocross event and saw numerous GT's with "that wobble" said to say but it seems almost normal

It is a common problem if your car has UDPs that were installed by morons...

Thanks, I have lost a couple 5.0 balancers but I did not expect my truck to lose one at 120k miles, stone stock.

Kind of a pain to change until I figured out the fan is a regular old right hand thread. Downhill after that...
