4.6L GT Big Bore 2.6L kit

I have a question regarding the supercharger kit from Kenne Bell. I noticed when I was printing information that it states "Not Legal for sale or use in California on pollution controlled motor vehicles, For competition use only". Does this mean that If I even purchase this Big Bore 2.6L kit they wont actually allow me to purchase it because I'm in California? I didn't know they would go to that extreme of not even selling it to me because I'm in cali. Does anyone in cali have this kit?

you can purchase it in CA, you jsut cant use it on a car to get smogged. you have to use the smaller kit in CA.

They will sell it to you for sure. It will be your responsibility though not to get caught with it on. You defiantly will not pass CA test

I just though since it stated that little note in the disclaimer that they wouldn't even try to sell it to someone in cali. I know I wont pass smog but I have a few places that I can go to... just have to pay xtra. I don't know if those places are still in business but they did it for me when I was NA-T on my supra. The only risk I'm running is getting pulled over and having them do an inspection. The KB will be going on a built motor so I'm hoping to get some nice numbers out of the KB.

ya they will sell to anyone. there are plenty of people with track only cars in CA.

same thing with the O/R X-pipe i have. says not for ca smog vehicles, but they still shipped it to my door. i kno it wont pass smog as is, but i heard if i get caught it something like $10,000 fine

you should still be able to buy it, just dont get caught.

you can buy it, but you just wont pass smog when it comes time for you to go for emissions testing... I believe because it wont have a CARB-EO# like the street legal smaller KB blower

They SELL them from California, why couldn't you BUY one from California...? I think it's to tell you that you can't use it on a street registered car in Kalifornia...

But... you can buy them for legal use on a "track car" or trailer car. Hell, go to the southeast of this country and you probably don't need smog restrictions, safety checks or insurance to drive your car.

Well we are not saying that you cant buy one here casue you can, im saying that it dont have a CARB-EO# on it cause that is what the cops look for. If alot of us run O/R midpipes out here in Cali why not competition blowers same principle applies if you get caught its a nice ticket with fine

All that is is a disclaimer from them saying that they warned you about the intended use of that blower

hmm... maybe I should reconsider getting them, but since I already have a Bassani mid-length headers, might as well take a risk

the fine depends on the jurisdiction really. i believe in some its an immediate impound.

Hey hey hey now. In Georgia they have smog & safety checks in some places (I don't know which because I'm not in one of them). Georgia requires insurance too

kinda off topic but can you pass visual inspection with nitrous in CA?

Looks like I might have to pull all my wiring for smog

depends on if the person doing the smog knows what nitrous setups look like.

Hmm..I could try to mask the solenoids lol. The wiring is loomed up pretty good. The only thing you really notice is the n2o/fuel lines. And my fuel pressure gauge...

well i would go with the 2.1L since its smog legal and you can up the boost on it but then you have to worry about your motor

Well I have a long list of mods that I'm doing and I find it kind of hard to stay smog legal. I must say that it will be hard to not drive it and just keep it as a track or trailer car. This is not the only car that I have but I know I'll be tempted to drive it on the street once in awhile... but then I run the chance of getting pulled over or worse getting the car impounded.
