The short block in my brothers 4.6l SOHC Mustang(manual) is completely wasted. I have a chance to get a 4.6l SOHC out of a '95 thunderbird(auto). Will the short block from the Tbird bolt into the mustang? Will the t-5 trans bolt on to the '95 tbird motor that was originally an AUTO? Will the heads off the mustang bolt on to the tbirds short block? Basicaly will the tbirds motor be a direct drop in replacement for the mustang? Sorry I don't know much about these Fords. I can't even figure out why they are called a "MODULAR" motor... Thanks, puTTs.

what year Mustang? They should bolt up ,that is why it is called modular. You can bolt differnt heads and intakes for different cars on to the block. I am not sure but I believe that some of the early 4.6 blocks do have a little differnt castings for transmissions. I don't know which years.

I know what your goin thru. My engine went out and Im installing another 4.6 out of a 95 crown vic. The guy who sold me the engine said that it will hook up just fine. Im using the manifold and other useful parts off of my old engine. So your brother's should be just fine. :nice:
