Apparently my ex-husband made that mistake.

Kurt, I dont know that I will ever own an electric car. We dont even have smog laws in Iowa, and my job pays well enough to afford gas for the time being. Im rockin 16 pushrods and 3 pedals for life. Although I do like quite a few of the guys in fox forum, Im sure I will be chatting it up here mostly cause this has been my home since '07. Now that you guys have taught me most of my knowledge, I dont think I'll have too many questions for the fox guys.

Yeah, it was just an expression I guess. I honestly think the hydrogen fuel cell cars will replace gasoline. I can't wait for that to happen. I'd rock a hydrogen fuel cell car for a daily. It will be the savior of the muscle car.

Kurt

Turns out my new water pump for the '95 is actually a fox style, even though I specifically requested they double check to be sure I have the right one. In this case its good news, but I feel like a retard putting the crusty stock water pump back on with all new gaskets. Putting your engine back together stock, after not changing anything but gaskets just feels like such a waste! I just need to swap my E7's back on with the stock headers, and then bolt up the accessories and Im done for the most part. If I werent home alone with my boy (1 1/2 year old), I would have it all done today. We have to wait for his mom to get home to go back out, cause today's naps are all used up.

Barney will NEVER have a place in my house. I was tortured with that by my cousins when I was young, and Dad has put his foot down already. Im on vacation for a week out in Denver right now, but the guys are really cool and are holding the car until mine is back together. All I have left is adjusting the rockers, and throwing on the valve covers, upper intake, CAI and such. I need to dig out my stock chip (minus the smog pump), and throw it in also. Then its off for the trade assuming the bitch starts and runs.

Hey guys, I finally got the dirty tramp all back together. Holy cow, I never realized all the little things I changed until I had to take them off and bolt the stock stuff back on. I was missing so many bolts, nuts, little plastic trim pieces, etc. After about 38 trips to Ace Hardware, I got matching bolts for all the engine parts, and for the rear seat. I didnt want it to look hodge podged. Surprisingly the car fired right up after I got the dizzy positioned right, and feels friggin good. Its got its torque back, but has no top end compared to the ported 40P's I had on there. Putting the rear seat back in really tightened it up, I wish I never took it out in the first place. Im going to make the trade tomorrow. The only thing I have left is finding a new drivers side door cup that houses the power window/door lock switches. I cant find mine anywhere, as I was using aluminum door skins before. As long as I buy one, the guys at the dealership are ok with going ahead with the trade. My wife found out about a month ago that her mom has stage four lung cancer that has spread all over her body, including multiple tumors in her brain. That really put a damper on things around here. She insisted I still go on vacation with my family to CO, but I have made a lot of trips back home to help them out around the house and just spend some time with her family. Thats what took me so long to get the '95 back to stock. My wife has taken FMLA, so money will be a little tighter for a while, which means the '86 is going to be staying the way it is for a while. I have a few parts that bolt on easily, but no engine or interior work for a while.

P.S. Thanks Terry, I wont have many questions for a while, but I can only hope and dream to create what I see in my head for this car.

Im trading the '95 for the 4 eye. I have never been patient enough to sell a car when I want another, I always take the hit and trade.

Thanks Chris, its a pretty tough pill to swallow thats for sure. On a brighter note, I brought the four eye home tonight. Here are blackberry pics, cause my wife has our camera out of town. Hope they arent tiny.

It looks good from a far, so Im not too ashamed to drive it the way it is for a while. The previous owner put dumped flowmasters on it, so its a bit obnoxious for my taste. New tires and a new cat back are first on the list, then a new dash pad cause the stock one is all wavy.

Oh, you may notice I pulled off that ugly ass rear window louver. I still have to remove the old tape residue from the window, but that rattle trap is in the junk pile.

Thanks Chris, it feels good to be in something more unique and rare. Its definitely a project car though, cause its not nearly as solid or all together as the '95 was. I just keep the finished product in my head, and little by little it will come around. Paint and body will be last, cause then I dont mind rock chips and door dings as much.
