4 Lug Wheels on a 65 V8 Stang

So hold on a sec, you are leaving the 4 lugs in then? Even in the back? I have to tell you, I think that is a mistake, especially at this juncture. It's better to thing ahead and do it now then by a bunch of new stuff like rims just to have to replace everything down the road that is new and old because you suddenly desire higher gears or more HP from your engine. Long and short range plans should be well thought out to avoid throwing money away.

The four lug brakes are insufficient for the v8 cars due to the added weight. They were barely good enough for the 6 cyl. It's not just a good idea, it's a pretty big safety concern. Good luck and keep plenty of room from the car in front of you!

if you're going to upgrade the brakes anyhow, you might as well just go pick up some new spindles. better safe than sorry, or at least that's what the old people keep telling me.

Its only old people that can tell you that....because being safe is how they survived into old age....I'm 31.....change the spindles and put a 5 lug brake kit on.

on the rear i think you need to get a whole new rear end, and no sense wasting money on an 8" like i did. I'd start hunting for a 9". I believe the I6 and V8 suspension arms are the same, so i see no reason why the granada spindle swap would cause any issues.

Swap the rearend for a 8in or 9 if your going to go with HP.
And you'll have the 5 lug.
Doing a brake swap will need some suspension changes too.
Good idea with the added motor weight.

Look for a full kit, Better price for what you'll need.
Do it all, Do it once, Do it right.
