so im out on work for about 25 days. So im gonna have a little spending money when i get in after i fix the idle problem im wanting to shoot for the 400-450 range car already has new upper and lower control arms and have new launch springs from upr on the back front have not yet been installed. The car came with a typhoon uppper and lower i still need to install and bbk long tube headers. What would you recomend to reach my goals. Also has anyone ever had any experience with the ebay turbo kits?http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-...s?hash=item5189c36428&_trksid=p4506.m20.l1116

this car will probly never see a drag strip just something to build on and drive for a bit till i sell it to start on another one.

I wouldn't waste a dime on a ebay turbo kit, poor quality stuff it has been discussed before. spend some time searching the on here and the turbo section on corral, you will get all the info you would ever need a top quality turbo setup. to get 400+rwhp start with a good set of heads like AFR's, Twisted, etc. a custom cam, or decent speced shelf cam from comp, trick flow, etc. then you need to boost it like you wanted either turbo or supercharger then you will need a larger MAF, larger TB, bigger injectors 42-47lbs off the top of my head, adj fuel press. reg, larger fuel pump 190 or 255l/hr. There are better intakes out there but you could clean up the typhoon, they have xtra flash and crap in them from casting, get a good tune done on it and you should be really happy after!

what specs would you suggest on a cam an what size chambers would you recomend on the heads also would gt40p heads work or would it be better to get some aftermarkets, would a 70mm tb work or be to big and what size MAF and is the bbk headers a good or bad combination, and would new rockers help out any, would need to upgrade the injectors without turbo or supercharger?

what are going to build a n/a motor or boosted motor? yes you will have to change the injectors even if you stay n/a, once you ditch the E7's and run the GT40's even with a stock cam you will need atleast 24's . If you want to do a low $$ build that will give a you a nice car for the street and some track time here are some options. Get the trick flow H/C/I kit, it's all matched up, 34lb injectors, 76mm c&l maf, 70mmTB, adj fuel reg, 155l/hr pump and a tune , you could also add a S-trim s/c to this and add 47lb inj. & 190l/hr pump with a good tune this would make some good power, well over 400rwhp with s/c. you could go real cheap and use the GT40p's, throw in some 1.7rr, keep the stock cam, use the typhoon and the above stuff with the s-trim and a tune and still make pretty decent power, although less than the trick flow I would think, just options.

for off the shelf cams the trick flow stage 1 is a very good cam , rpm range 2,000-5,000 also the lunati 51014 is another good choice rpm range on that is 2,500-6,000 I would use 1.6rr's on both. 76mm maf a 70mm Tb, 30lb injectors and other supporting stuff and a tune, both cams will work with the s-trim s/c well. I would think you could get close to 400rwhp with a s/c and a tune. If you could swing it a set of afr 165 58cc heads would beat the day lights out of the "P's" atleast a 20-25hp gain out of the box.

ok so I guess my plan is to get the gt40p heads 1.6 rr already got the lunati cam, 30lb injectors, a 76 maf a 70 tb then save for the s trim and possibly new heads will me bbk long tubes work with the gt40p heads? what hp do you think this will put me at?

BBK long tubes will have spark plug interference problems with the GT40-P heads. They will fit great on NON P heads. You would have to buy a set of mac or ford racing headers made for the P heads to be able to reach your spark plugs correctly.

That combo n/a should net you anywhere from 255-280hp at the wheels. With an S-trim pushing around 12lbs of boost I would say around 370-390 to the tires.

check out the tread in the turbo section on the corral. a member on there is doing a review on the ebay "on3" turbo kit.

how much of a difference would there be between the gt40p and gt40

not alot. The gt40p's flow better than the gt40 but not by much. the p's run a 1.46 exhaust valve the gt40 a 1.54. the p's chamber size is around 58-60cc yielding more compression, the gt40 around 64cc iirc. The only thing most guys do to the gt40's is grind the egr bumps to improve flow, other than that they are really close. I know of people running bbk long tubes with P's, the #7 & #8 plugs are a huge pita to get to. I think the 96 and early 97 explorers had the gt40's as well has the early lightnings. I was kinda off on my hp #'s also, hmm kinda shocked me , I thought you could have made more rwhp at a lower boost level. AFR's  :D.

Its gonna be hard to get to 400-450 without forced induction. Dont look at the ebay turbo's everything in that kit would be usable except the turbos. Ebay knock off turbos are made of such poor quality they will fall apart right when you start the motor and destroy everything. Getting that much hp N/A would cost too much money imo. Your better off taking the motor apart and rebuilding the internals for low compression and putting a supercharger or single turbo on it.

would it be worth it to buy the kit for the tubing and intercooler and everything and then finding different turbos.

Definitely not, I bought a big intercooler from cxracing on eay for 150 bucks shipped. You can buy the tubing you need off summit or anywhere really. And the silicone couplers arent too expensive either.

Visit this site. This guy does great work and the price isnt bad for the quality.
