My buddy is about to start building his 2nd Factory Five Racing Cobra and he wants a 87 octane pump gas engine that makes around 450+ horse at the crank. It'll be backed by a TR3550 "Road Race" spec tranny.
He was talking about a built EFI 302 with a Kenne Bell. I said, first, DUH! that 302 won't run on 87 octane with a blower and 2nd, save yourself about 2 grand and do a 351W stroker and it'll run on 87while making the same kind of power. He was like yeah I didn't even think about it needing 93 octane gas.....and he knows better.
