That fits better than a 351 in a 65-66, especially the Cleveland.

I am not sure what you mean about the "brackets".

That is a Be Cool radiator. I initial installed the Tbird radiator, but it sucked. It was too big and leaked. The front frame rails are now notched. But when it got put in (1992) no one made stuff for that conversion.

Sorry I meant the power steering bracket and alternator bracket. Why did you notch the frame rails?

PS bracket is from the 72 Tbird. I think the alternator is just a chromed universal fit.

Frame rails were notched b/c the T bird radiator was really wide. The small aluminum one does a better job though.

Crites is probably the way to go, but to give you another option, Tubular Automotive makes them too.
Auto Krafters retails them, so you could shop them at the AK site.
If you decide to buy them though, go through Tubular directly for a good price.
Just that Tubular doesn't have a site. Have to deal direct.
They are in Rockland Mass.

I researched them when I needed 351c swap headers.
The folks I got feedback from didn't give high marks.

I know folks that use Crites headers... High marks from every one.
I have owned 3 sets of Tubular headers. High marks from me.

Nothing personal, just an oposing point of view.

They are definately a 3rd option.

I can tell you they look fantastic. They fit great, and the welds were perfect. The 429-460 Mustang Yahoo group all rave about them.

My engine builder even said they were the nicest headers he ever saw.

Oh, and they were easy to talk to and very friendly. He sent me a bunch of pictures and referal emails, and let me know his headers (the ones I wanted) were on Foose's Gambler Mustang.

they look real nice the only thing is they seem to only have the shorties on the website. I wonder how much they might hamper performance. does anyone else have them on their car?

I admit those look good.

On the shortie question:
Short primary pipes favor higher rpm operation.
The collectors are very short too.
That does the same, favors high rpm.

Now if you were dealing with a small engine, like a 302, I would be the first to argue for long tubes...
But with a 460+ engine, you aren't going to miss any low end grunt lost.
Same with a single plane intake.
As a matter of fact, big cube guys often like to tweak parts like these to soften the stump pullin grunt that keeps them from getting traction, breaks driveline parts, and twists bodies.

Just a thought.
You still got 3 options...

In 1967, Mustangs came stock with 390s, 427s, and 428s. The 460 is the same block, so it should fit. The parts should be available at your favorite mustang supplier.
