4cyl conversion tranny questions

I have the 4 banger tranny, and a V8 bellhousing. Can I swap the clutch fork and everything in/on the bellhousing from the 4cyl to the V8 bellhousing?

I already have a V8 clutch set, flywheel, TOB, and conversion pilot bearing.


I wouldn't be asking, but I don't have the 4 cyl bell assembly at my house yet.

Externally the 4-banger t-5 and v8 t-5 are the same except for the pilot bearing shaft diamter. So you can reuse the V8 clutch, flywheel and shift fork no probs.

Only the gearing in the trans is different. I just finished changing a 4-banger trans over to V8 specs pretty easily. All the synchros and everything else is the same

Maybe I should have been more clear.

All I have for the V8 is the clutch set, flywheel, and bellhousing.

Will the shift fork, and related linkage from the 4 banger work for me?

I don't think so but i'm not 100% on that

No, you need the V-8 fork and cable.

The 4-cyl fork used some crazy pivot arm on the side of the bell housing and a STUPID 2" piece of wire w/ balls at either end. So you absolutely need the v8 fork and cable.
