hey everybody, i just picked up a 87 mustang coupe this weekend that was originally a 4 cyl but the guy did a 5.0 swap...and now that ive got it and looking closer at it im not sure if we was finished or not or what...theres 2 vac ports on the throttle body open , not pluged or have lines running anywhere...the upper intake manifold has a vac line coming out the bottom of it but just has a screw in it to cap it off....a maf conversion was done. just curious how i do the dual o2 sensors or if i even need them, it was running open opens and he gave me a catless x pipe and flowmaster with dumps, i put them on last night, its not 100% done but it hangs to low and scraped on a 1 inch bump...is there a v8 swap right up and or pictures somewhere that could help me out, or is anybody in MD that feels like coming over and looking at my mess? thanks for the help in advance!!

ok since i need the 02 sensors, what am i supposed to do to hook them up? im guessing the original 4 cyl only had the one connector, im not sure if its right or ot, i really didnt evn notice any connectors buti wasnt looking to had either becuas i was trying to figue out the exhuast

im ot sure baout the ports on the TB, they ae 2 very small ports which is why i assume they are vac ports but ill take a closer look after work.

also i noticed, about a half inch tube running behind the motor but on the driver side its been cut, whats that and do i need it?

if he did an efi swap then he had no choice than to use the correct harness and the 02 plugs should be in the fender area like said. as long as there are no vacuum leaks I would plug off the unused stubs and remove any extra hoses to clean the area up.
posting pics of your engine would be a good idea in helping decide what's what.

havnt found the o2 sensor connectors yet...im goin to post pics soon of engine bay.if anybody wants any certain pics or angles let me know. camera died as i went to load them. the motor runs and revs good and no CEL light without them pluged in.

the 2 ports on TB are on the spacer and i dont feeel any VAC so i will plug them. now there is 3 ports on the back of the upper manifold and the one in the middle is not pluged or ran and is leaking air , what should i do about that. the port on the front of upper manifold is also pluged. is that right?

I could sit here and tell you what all the vacuum lines are and where they should be connected, but I feel like we'd be wasting energy because it sounds like you have a lot of cleanup work on your hands from a poor V8 conversion job. The best thing for you to do right now is look up wiring and vacuum line diagrams using the search function on here, and just spend some time making sure that everything is in place and accounted for.

Here is a web page with some VERY USEFUL information (haha) that you will need to properly go about finding the problems with your car.

Good luck! :SNSign:

ok i found the o2 sensor connectors....they are in front of the motor by the crank...they must be ran the wrong way or something becuase there is absolutely no way for them to reach the the o2 sensor. what should i do?
