I recently acquired a 1999 SVT Contour. I did a full tune up on this car and found that this has a 3L swap done at some point in its life, painted the front clip of the car, and replaced the front struts when I added H&R springs. While not the fastest out here by a long shot, it's a fun car to drive back and forth to work. Enjoy!

This motor looks to have come from a 3.0 Escape. Sounds good to me, Ive had a few Ford 3.0 cars and the motor was the last thing I had problems with.....
Don't think so. MTX75 is robust enough for this, suspension is all new interior is a 7 out of 10. This car easily has 10 more years of life at my pace. Even so, if it breaks I will fix it. After saying all this, at the end of the day it is a FORD so we shall see!That will be the case with this one too.

Great find! I happen to love the SVT Contour, and wouldn't mind owning one. Check out ForgottenSVT on YouTube if haven't already. He also has a 3.0 swap and auto-crosses the car.

The only reason I asked is that some of the SVT engines did get forged parts from the factory. My 97 Cobra came with a forged crank as an example.
This "SVT" is different. It has the Duratec 3.0 from just about any Taurus /Escape on the road. Cast crank and powder forged rods and I believe hyper pistons. The heads are SVT owned but nothing too special. I like it though. Easy on gas, nimble. not fast by any means by todays standards of cars but I like the simplicity of it.
