4k Stall and stock axles

The amount of time they will hold up depends on the amount of traction you get. You will smoke your stock diff faster than you will break your axles. If you put M/T's on there you might find yourself replacing axles soon.

here's some info for ya,a friend of mine put a carbed 408 in a 2001 mustang v6 body and left in the 7.5.the only mods to the rear was that he welded the spider gears(i know,i know:nono:)anyway the car ran several 6 sec 1/8 mile passes, the best being 6.78 at 102-103 mph and never gave up and this was with 60' times in the mid 1.50's.well when we finally pulled the 7.5 to install a built 8.8 the only thing wrong with the stock axled 7.5 was that a tooth was chipped off the ring gear but it never did hurt an axle!maybe he was just lucky:shrug:

I broke my diff at the track. It was at the 1/8 mile mark at around 80ish mph, the car was spinning badly then it dead hooked and blew.

I pushed my stiff pretty hard though. I had a BONE STOCK auto tranny deep into the 11s with out a tranny cooler or anything.

They are really stout axles bone stock. The 8.8 is probaly the best part on a Mustang, lol.

People DO break them however. They arent bullet proof, but they are very tough and will withstand alot of abuse so long as they are in good shape to begin with.

Camaro/TA guys wish their cars had an axle that stout from the factory.
