ok my uncle has a 96 crown victoria and I was wondering if it would be smart for me to swap the engines for each other. How much power would my car have after the swap and would both cars work fine after. How much do you think this swap would cost and what do you think i would need?

the only panther chassis cars to have a 4v motor are the marauders. ford NEVER i repeat NEVER made a 4v crown vic from the factory for public or police use. the swap can be done, however you are better off just putting on PI heads or swapping in a PI motor.

thank you but for some reason i always thought they had dohc, but anyways if they dont have dohc why are police cars so fast do you guys know what they have in there cars.

aluminum driveshaft, 3.55 gears, dual exhaust, 4 coil springs, they are NOT faster than a stock crown vic. i used to work on them all the time at my old job. they also have a special computer tune that basically allows them to shift at around 6500-7000 rpm.

Thats weird i always thought that the police cars were very fast I've seen them outrun alot of cars. Also i seen the highway camaros do you know what they have on them?

i drive a 00 grand marquis as a daily and its fairly fast in stock form. they are no cobra off the line, but they are better than most hondas. the local CHP (california highway patrol) camaros have a LS1 with a 4 speed automatic, 4l80e i believe, and a 10 bolt with 3.42 gears. it is out of action about 80% of the time due to blown trannys or rear ends.
