Okay I'm new to this form thing but I got 1979 Mustang 5.0 I'm installing GT40 heads there is a Centreport on intake side I blew air to it seemed like it was coming out the exhaust port should I block this off cuz seems to me that we just let the intake air straight out the exhaust

That is the port that delivers exhaust to the EGR valve (on EFI cars). Depending on the intake you are using, it may have an EGR allowance.

If your intake is solid at that point and the gasket fully covers, it should suffice as a block off.

The 79 should have EGR. The Edelbrock intake took a 4bbl EGR carb spacer plate off of a truck instead of the car’s 2bbl one.

It should have AIR, the air pump, valve and the crossover tube for the back of the heads. Either the early Exploder or existing Mustang pipe should be fine.
