Gentlemen, even if you're a long-time member here, please review Stangnet's Terms of Service<---link. Of particular concern, please read these 3 points:

* While debating and discussion is fine, we will not tolerate rudeness, insulting posts, personal attacks or purposeless inflammatory posts. Our decision is final in these matters.

* We also reserve the right to ban anyone who willfully violates the forum rules, as access to our forums is a privilege and not a right. Let's try and remember that we are all guests.

*-- Do not feel, however, that staff is unapproachable. Issues may be taken up with staff members using the Private Messaging system. Attempting to confront staff in an open forum is not permitted, as it does not compliment the intent of either the forum or the subject of the thread. Failure to heed this warning can result in removal of or locking of the thread in question and suspension of member accounts.

I love the sense of community here. I enjoy the fact that I can get online and see how you guys, many of whom I know by name, consistently help the other stangers that wander into our community and what you're doing on your own projects. The fox 5.0 boards are a community and some of us have known each other here for 10 years +, already. I'm pretty light-handed when it comes to discipline, preferring to lock threads, remove posts, and/or issue warnings via PMs to issuing suspensions and bans. That said, neither I nor any other stangnet staff will not tolerate attacks on other stangnet staff or other stangnet members.

N8Dogg and fiveohwblow are both long-time (since 2005) members that have my respect, but they both crossed the line and disrespected a hard working staff member, Brian aka Gearbanger 101. I made the correction by asking fiveohwblow to cool it both publicly and privately before it went too far, but unfortunately Justin did not take the hint and decided to imflame the situation. He was temporarily banned, which in my view is appropriate. N8Dogg then took it upon himself to crusade through 18 other threads in protest. Obviously, this is far from acceptable, and he was temporarily banned. To be frank, after I found out the entirety of the facts, I think that was a modest response, and I believe I would have personally issued a permanent ban for his "blaze of glory."

I typically do not bother explaining the actions of the staff, because they are not up for debate. However, I feel that this situation should be explained, because I sense growing contempt and a general belief among the users that the staff is unfair.

Guys, damn... Take it easy and try to enjoy the board. Don't look for fights. If you don't like someone, ignore them. If you still have a bone to pick, can't let it go, and you feel it may become inappropriate content for the boards, take it to PMs. In the end, you're going to lose when you don't observe the ToS, and you're going to go out looking like an ass. Further, even if I or any other mod likes you, there's no way to defend you once you cross that line.

You're the resident prick here, Mike. That's why they keep you around. Every forum needs at least one.

I'll have you know that it has been WEEKS now since my last comments could even be construed as sounding prick-like.

Since selling the Mustang, I find it hard to offer any reply w/ any degree of authority,. as I have always felt that those that have "had" something, lose their place on the know it all soap box, in effect makes everything you say have to start with: "Back in my day".

Guess you could say I neutered myself.

This is a great forum.
I guess I missed the fireworks...
I have yet to see a moderator on THIS site that asks for disrespect.
I have been to others where the mods were running in the cliques, and some that were blatant leg humpers on the female posters.
This site has always been cool.
