5.0 mustang magazine

Hey man, i read alot of those magizines...well maybe everyone out there ha. Besides Mustang Monthly that is  But if you look at the feature vehicles....They all have one of these:
Nice Paint - Or wild paint
Clean chrome engine
Big HP (400 and up)
Different or unique engines- Turbo charger off a john deere tractor etc...
A Rare car
Custom interior
Or there car is speical, unique or something that isn't like everybody elses.

Now i personally love your car and envy your T-tops. But from what i've seen, your car never gets in the feature shots. I mean you got the nice paint and T-tops going for yah. I haven't seen your interior. But i mean as far as rims and engine, its no dif then anybody elses. And theres nothing wrong with that either. But i mean USUALLY a GT with cobra rims and flowmasters and a 93 intake won't get in. Not saying it can't, but if you look for youself in the mags, you rarely see cars like that getting in. But since you got T-tops you never know... Good luck though man. Hitting a Car event is your best bet. Then they are there and you are there and they can snap the photos rather then drive to your of fly etc.... It gives you a better shot. :nice: I'm not trying to run you down by any means, just trying to help you out. Try something different with your car maybe?

Heres a ref.... Take a look at the latest MM mag. Heres the cars featured...
1. S197 w/high hp and is a "Drift car"
2. That guy with the Blue fox on here that is FAR from stock to say the least... ha
3. 2000 GT with KB blower, rims, brakes,438 hp, Cobra IRS, complete engine redo, etc...
4. Custom 427 S197. Not something you see everyday..

I kind of agree, with a fox you need something different that stands out... Not easy getting a fox into one of those mags, but as proven by some here, it can be done!

...and I feel, with the right touches to your engine bay, '25th', that thing is a 'shoe in'. Send me some pics to [email protected] of the bay, interior, paint, wheels etc....I just love the look of this car.:nice: Sorry to 'jack' the thread.

I will have to get you after work... to note though it will be partially in a magazine for a car show I was at the other day. I did have a pic in from FFW 2004 where I grabbed second in Street Stang, but other than that, getting a feature is tough from what I have seen. Especially me, I have NO intentions of ever sending them pictures or info about the car unless they come to me.

Car really have to have everything and stand out to be chosen for a magazine. The Ttops do help, but a friend of mine has a MINT Ttop GT, similar to reef blue and silver, near perfect inside and out, HCI, lowered on 17" ROHs, car looks real good but I just don't see his ever being in a mag spread. Until we go at it this winter :hail2: !

thats pretty much the truth, im doing some photo work for a magazine editor right now and we talk about the magazine a little when it comes up. that, and have a friend who thought his mini was ready for the truck magazines to find out they didnt like it. you really need to stand out, the same wheels as everyone, and the same plain motor wont get you anything but in the readers rides. still a cool place to be though. you really have to step up your game and stand out if you want to get in.

i doubt i would get a feature, but yea i plan on going to alot of shows and strips this springm because the seasons coming to an end. I have posted pics a while ago but here are some more

i still have to get an updated shot of the engine bay and the interior, ohh well maybe this weekend haha
great job with this car and it is definately worthy of being in any of the top magazines.this is another perfect example of a t-top stang.:nice:

Thanks, yea the car is nice and i have had many people tell me to try to get it in the magazine so i figured its worth a shot, but i kind of figured it wouldnt get in because like you guys said it isnt a radical car with wicked power, but maybe some day in the future

I agree... 25th's car is different. Haven't ever seen one like it. He does have a good change but i still think he could use some engine work. Whether its more HP or chrome. If you had one or the other i think you'd be in. Of course, like me.. i don't want to be in one until i've finished my car. Then i'll start hitting the car shows and see what happens.

I would love more power, and will have it some day, but for now I want the car to be the way I want it before that. Probably have Cobra brakes this winter, maybe dig into the suspension as well. If I get a new job the motor will begin and depending I have two or three options of what I'd like to do right now. Either one will some day have a 6 speed, maybe SN interior, everything hidden in the bay, etc...

Chrome, idk, never been huge on it, but might try and incorporate some into the car!

well im in the middle of writing up a story about the car to send into 5.0 mustang and super fords magazine, hoping for a feature but who knows:shrug: Its worth a shot to try to get it in there right.

hey i would definetly do it i meen it cant hurt to try right? but yeah your car looks
good as hell so i hope to see you in it b/c i am a monthly reader of that mag sooo.
GOOD LUCK:nice:

i love seeing nice examples of 87-88 t-top stangs mine is an 88 t-top and i hope to have it on the road in a couple of years.major rust issues need to be taken care of then will rebuild car like yours. i hope to have mine grace the pages of modified mustang magazine which is my favorite right now.

25th - your racing angle would make for a good story about a racer doing his thing on a mostly stock engine, and so on. I've seen far less good looking cars than yours with similar racing stories plenty of times. Whenever the car isn't drop-dead 'something else', it's usually racing history/abilities that garners the interest. :nice: You've got both! I personally think your darker demeanor car would benefit moreso from carrying that into the bay rather than going all blingy. Make it work as a colored scheme, like Bottlfed's was before he started rotating out some of the painted stuff. That looks just as good and in most cases better than chrome. The problem w/chrome and **** is if you don't go ALL OUT, that's all anyone is going to think when they look at it. Well, me and a bunch of people that I know anyway.

well thanks for the compiments...yea i figured i wouldnt hurt, and if i dont make it in, theres a hope for the future.

Hsean, i hear you on the rust with these t-tops. The floorpans were so bad in this car when i got it from leaking t-tops that the seat was coming through the floor and you could stand in the rust holes lol. It took alot to fix them but theyre great now. Good luck on your rebuild and keep us posted:nice:

Thanks Manson, it would be nice if they saw it that way, but whose to say they will. I am at a lot of the events in New England, so the cars out there, but if they choose it or not, no sweat off my back. My plan is powder coat and clean under the hood, not flashy and bling. Wet sand, buff, pinstripe and get the motor black and silver with some red accents and I will be happy!

87, just do what you think you should, don't expect anything and be surprised if you get in. Thats kind of my theory, only I wont be sending in any pics of the car.

my floorpans are rotted out as well more so on the drivers side but thats the least of my worries.the a-pillars are rotted on both sides at the corners and my framerails are rotted completely underneath the strut towers to the point that part of the strut towers are rotted as well.i may use my other non t-top roller and switch everything over being it is fairly clean.i hate to do that because it would not be original and being the last year for t-top it is very rare.i think i may just bite the bullet and have all the repairs done.
