ok guys I have a 1990 LX with a swapped 351w, I am trying to figure out if 5.0 parts will fit on the 4 cyl chassis, mainly the shocks, struts, and front brakes? I already installed the rear shocks for a 5.0 on the rear axle and they seem fine, installed fine and fit properly, haven't had a chance to drive it on them but they seem ok, I'm just wondering if I will have any issues using the 5.0 front struts on the 4 cyl chassis, and if I were to buy 5.0 brake rotors and pads would those work without issue? Or would I have to also buy 5.0 calipers? any and all help would be appreciated.

I know the rear axle on the 5.0 has slightly different shock mounts than the 4 cyl but that essentially install the same way so again I just making sure it is safe to run them or if I should return them and order the 4 cyl ones. mainly im just trying to upgrade the suspension from the 4 cyl pieces to handle the 351 better.

Swap all the v8 front stuff over with the struts. The 4 cy stuff is different (brakes and struts). I'm not 100% sure what or if there is a difference on the struts though.

See What exactly do I need to convert mine to 5.0 | Mustang Forums at StangNet for help with what to swap.

The 4 cylinder cars came with 7.5" rear axle, which won't take the torque that the 351 engine puts out. The 8.8" rear axle that came with the 87-93 5.0 Mustangs is what you need..

it has an 8.8 rear with 3.55s in it, so the rear shocks should be fine cause it already has a 5.0 rear end is what your saying?

That is correct. It sounds like you have the rear axle part of the puzzle solved correctly.

ok cool, my plan in the future I want to do the 5 lug swap but I am mainly wondering if the larger bore struts from a 5.0 will fit properly on the 4cyl spindles until I do that?
