Final decision... I'm going with the Pro Street Fighter 331 stroker kit using the E Cam that is currently in the motor, either Al's Twisted Wedge heads or AFR 185s, 70mm TB and 65mm MAF.

I'm ready to get it washed and bored... Any suggestions on machine shops that do both?

Waterhouse has all the most modern machines. Other shops in the area take jobs to Waterhouse anyway. You might as well just take the engine to them from the beginning.

For your budget I'd go TFS TW heads, Holley Systmax intake, Comp Cams camshaft (of their recommendation) and the 331 or 347 stroker. That along with your NOS kit should get you there. The convertor should be changed too to optimize the setup.
There are so many better cams than the E cam but its not that bad if on a budget. If you sell off some items you could probably work one in. If you can swing it I'd stud the block and heads. Another $175 for that and its added insurance. A stud girdle would a bonus too.
What mass air meter and t-body are you going to use? Injectors?

Good advice! If I were to go back to EFI and a 5.0, I'd probably use that combo.

I also like that choice, the holley systmax retains more of the low & mid range than most of the aftermarket choices, but I like the gt40/cobra for an auto powered car. Saw dyno sheets that show the gt40 made more average hp & tq to 5500 rpm, and that was on a 347. I think anderson motorsports did the testing.

If things go right, I am probably purchasing John's old outfit off his 88 that he sold. The new owner of the 88 is now selling the engine and its components all of which will fit nicely with my new setup and save me some monies... Project is still in the decision making process and it will only be a matter of time before I'm back on the road again with more horse's to pull me around. I appreciate everyone's oppinions and suggestions. They all helped!!!
