Hey guys, just curious about the reputation of 5.0 Resto?

I need to order some parts like a hatch latch striker, door striker bushing, etc. Wondered whether anyone's had good/bad experiences with them and whether or not I should order from them or someone else?

Thanks, folks!

They are a good company, but I was disappointed with the quality of the striker bushings I bought from them. The Ford ones are thick hard plastic, but the ones I got from 50resto were cheap thin rubber things that fit kind of loosely. The drivers side one only lasted a month or so before it ripped. What a joke.

I've purchased lot's of stuff from them. Stuff I got includes;

- Pony emblem floor mats.
- various emblems and badges.
- center console trim lid.
- Pony seatbelt pads.
- Antenna bezel.
- door panel plastic pegs.

I've had no problems with any of my orders. I'm from Canada and the stuff gets here in around 5 days intact. If it weren't for Customs taxes, I'd order from them more often. As it is, I order from them once a year usually in the fall and winter months.

I agree this is an excellent place to get hard to find parts. Some are overpriced, but the have some of the best shipping and packing.I have yet to have a problem with any of the resto parts I have bought for my 89 coupe.

* Interior screw kit
* Door seals
* Black armrest delete
* Armrest lid repair
* Door hinge rebuild kit
* Striker bushings
* Door armrest plugs
* Headlight, marker, blinker lens kit

:nice:

i too had good luck with them. so has my brother. great place. one of the top 5 places i check out when ordering parts. you guys are right about some things are expensive, though.

I've ordered over $500 dollars in items there and had no problem with the ordering came within 3-4 days...Just don't order there hatch supports(failed within 2 days...wouldn't even hold up the hatch at all)...

Bigsparky, I guess you don't read posts too well?

I'm from Toronto, I've ordered from 50resto plenty of times and with no problems.

However, on large order's, expect customs and brokerage fees to be killer. I think the largest order at one time I've received from them was for $175 US. I think I paid almost $50 Canadian on customs and brokerage fees!!!!!!

Make sure it's worth your while to spend that kinda dough before you purchase.

The stuff I get from them is stuff I KNOW I CAN'T get here in Toronto. The pony embroidered floor mats and the armrest lid repair kit are 2 things I knew I couldn't get here. Most stuff is still available at a Ford dealership. You'll be surprised how expensive some of the stuff is at a dealership, however, once you factor in customs, it's pretty much the same as ordering from the dealership here in Canada.

I hope they are as good as everybody says. I just ordered $460 worth of stuff they had in stock and nobody else even knew what I was talking about. I checked with Ford first and they wanted over $700 for two of the parts I am getting for $270 from them. And the best part is they are in TEXAS.

Yeah they are a good company, i order'd a shifter boot for my car only place i could find one other then ford an i didn't even ask ford god only know's how much they wanted for the cheap looking leather thing. 5.0resto theirs was expensive, BUT it wasn't that cheap leather looking stuff either it was made of real leather an was high quality.

5.0 resto is awesome! When i ordered my door handles they were on back order for around 2 weeks but when i got them the invoice said they were free because they were on backorder! It was awesome! They even called my cell phone to tell me that the parts were on backorder.
