5.0 to 4.6 swap(can it be done)?

i have a 94 gt with the 5.0 in it,and she getting a little tired.i was thinking of a 4.6 sohc or even better Dohc.can it be done?And if so, the big Q. is what all will i nead? thanks

the question is bound to be asked so, why go to a 4.6 instead of sticking with a 5.0?

with enough money, anything can be done. Yes it can be done. MM & FF did a 4cyl to 4.6 swap.

I was wondering the same thing.
Unless he gets a 03 Cobra 4.6 motor
But to each his own.

I think a 5.4 would be more fun. Kinda like a 351W swap, but modular.

Someone added up the cost of putting an '03 Cobra motor in a Fox. It was ridiculously expensive. You could build a thousand horsepower 5.0 for the same amount of cash required to do it. I can't remember what the thread was called, it was in 94-95 where I usually post.

this is going to sound dum but I like the sound better,and i'm leaning more at the 96-02 DOHC I like the hp better and the high rpms.

for those of you who don't know why one would go to 4.6 from a 5.0 is this,
4.6 (DOHC) engines are more efficient, stronger (6 bolt main block) and also they are aluminum blocks (except for the 03 ). The modular engine can go higher in the rpms, has less HP loss due to less friction, etc. There are so many reasons, so I would ask, why would you NOT go to a 4.6 if you could

or, you could always put 4v heads on a 5.0, for only $3000

I tossed the idea of putting the 4V from my lincoln in my Mustang for a while
